Leading Through a New Lense

We’re learning that understanding starts with listening. That support looks different for every person. I’ve found that real growth happens when we meet people where they are. I’m thankful to be able to help lead our duvari team, which is filled with a variety of neurotypical and neurodivergent members, and we get to practice building systems that serve people (not shape them into something they’re not). Trust me, though… it’s trial and error, and we don’t always get it right! It means training to strengths, not just patching weaknesses. It means leading with compassion, curiosity, and the humility to always keep learning. Because here’s the truth: we can’t over-systemize people or their growth.

Every person learns differently. Every person grows differently. And what do I see in the greatest leaders? They create space for others to thrive in their own unique way.

Autism awareness isn’t just about understanding a diagnosis, and it’s not just one month of the year to have empathy and understanding. It’s about changing how we see, how we listen, how we lead, and what I find most important… how we love! I’m forever grateful for the rainbow of perspective my bonus kiddo brings into my life and into our world.
